Shipping Policy: “The Venomous Snakes of China”

As mentioned in the initial announcement, for sales in the US, I’m covering shipping within the US. For international shipping (defined as non-US sales), I’m covering up to $50 worth of shipping. As many people have been surprised by some of the shipping costs, I figured it would be informative if I provided an approximate guide to shipping costs upfront before someone clicks on “buy” and then sees the shipping expense afterwards. Buyers should be aware of the shipping expenses. I realize the book is a big enough sticker shock, then to have a massive shipping expense (even after deducting the $50 I provide)

The following values are the real-world costs we have seen shipping copies. If a range is given, then that stems from multiple copies versus single copies being sent. Example, a single book to Australia = $100 USD, but sending 1 package of 8 copies = $80 USD per book. I mention values are approximate, because every day things happen in the world that affect the price of fuel…. Additionally, I should also mention, here in China, we are using the service SF. There are cheaper options out there, including slower shipping speeds, but many of these slower shipping speeds result in a delivery taking 30-60 days, and these cheaper options are also less secure and may potentially lead to damaged books.
